Using the DICOM Viewer

The DICOM Viewer in MDiTek allows providers to securely view and interact with medical imaging such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs directly within the patient chart. This feature supports clinical decision-making by providing easy access to diagnostic images.

Overview

With the DICOM Viewer, you can:

• View imaging studies and series
• Navigate through image slices
• Adjust image brightness and contrast
• Measure distances and angles
• Annotate images (if enabled)

How to Access the DICOM Viewer

1. Open the Patient Chart
2. Navigate to:
   • Documents, or
   • Imaging / DICOM Viewer (depending on your setup)
3. Locate the imaging study
4. Click the study to launch the DICOM Viewer

Viewing and Navigating Images

Once the viewer opens, you can:

• Scroll to move through slices (CT/MRI studies)
• Click and drag to pan across the image
• Use the mouse wheel or zoom tool to zoom in/out
• Switch between series or image sets using the side panel

Tools and Features

Zoom & Pan

• Zoom in for detail or out for full view
• Drag to reposition the image

Window / Level

• Adjust brightness and contrast for better visualization

Measurement Tools

• Measure distances between two points
• Calculate angles for anatomical analysis

Annotations (if enabled)

• Add markers or notes to images
• Highlight areas of interest

Reset View

• Restore the image to its default orientation and settings

Image Information

The viewer may display:
